LCD TV Buying Guide

   Posted by: Erikson   in Review

Welcome back!

Introduction

When you visit the online store or electronic store nearby to buy a television, you will face many options to choose. Nowadays there are two types of television available on the market based on the display technology used, CRT and Flat Panel. The traditional cathode ray tube (CRT) TV is vacuum tube containing an electron gun and a fluorescent screen, which accelerate and deflect the electron beam to create images in the form of light emitted from the fluorescent screen. This type of television requires high power consumption since it has to fire up high speed electrons, and need more space because of tube shape.

Next type is Flat Panel TV which consists of two kinds: Plasma TV and Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) TV. The Plasma Display Panel (PDP) uses many tiny cells between two panels of glass hold an inert mixture of noble gases which is electrically turned into a plasma which then excites phosphors to emit light. The LCD TV is an electronically-modulated optical device shaped into a thin, flat panel made up of any number of color or monochrome pixels filled with liquid crystals and arrayed in front of a light source (backlight) or reflector. It is often utilized in battery-powered electronic devices because it uses very small amounts of electric power.

LCD Television

Which type will you buy? For the bedroom, you might want to choose smaller models with a tilting wall mount or a ceiling mount at your preference. Very good explanation, whenever LCD came into mind it was just flat screen and slim design never went so deep into it. Also anything organic is a welcome now. good post.
